Hi! I'm Michael Cao. I'm a software engineer and Stanford CS grad. 👾

I'm passionate about harnessing the tremendous value of software and technology to impact the lives of others.

More About Me

I am a recent Stanford graduate with a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science. At Stanford, I was involved in teaching through the CS198 section leading program and serving as a CA for web development, operating systems, and software project courses. I also served as a VP for Stanford Club Tennis and Stanford XR. Currently, I'm a software engineer at Glean, where I'm working on Glean Assistant, a copilot for knowledge workers powered by AI and enterprise data.

I aspire to be a leader at the forefront of technological change and am deeply committed to building for those who need it most. I prioritize human-centered design and ethical decision-making to ensure that products I build are in tune with user needs and are uncompromisingly safe.

In my free time, I love listening to electronic music, playing piano and guitar, and staying active through working out and playing tennis.
